Quarantined together, these high risk best friends’ newest release celebrates companionship, the unique challenges of growing close, and the threat of loss in that closeness; challenges amplified in quarantine, particularly for the high risk population. Written by the late David Olney alongside Irakli Gabriel and John Hadley, this single gives a jazzy voice to the small frustrations we feel about those we are close to, the same frustrations we often mourn hardest when someone is gone.
The video captures the colorful, kitschy, retro world Kaye and Fossee consistently bring to the Nashville music scene, one a Nashville native and the other from the Republic of Georgia. Their playful friendship is the focus of this multicolored world, where innocence is celebrated and laughter is encouraged.
Kaye and Fossee live around the corner from one another with their husbands. The four quarantined together in early March. With a recording studio, WireBird Productions, and video studio, Duende Vision, between them, they intentionally set themselves up for creation and safety during quarantine.
Both the song and video for “Anyone But You” were created entirely in quarantine in Nashville, TN. Fossee’s husband, Brett Ryan Stewart of Wirebird Productions/Wirebird Records, engineered and produced the song, having most musicians play from their homes. Kaye and her husband, Irakli Gabriel, of Duende Vision produced the video
