After releasing a handful of euphoric indie-rock gems over the last few years collecting over 200K streams, Beau Turrentine caught the ear of masked cowboy Orville Peck which landed him on his personal Spotify playlist. This began a relationship between them that put Beau on tour opening a string of sold-out shows for Orville Peck across the United States. Now the Nashville-based singer and songwriter continues to unveil his upcoming new EP ‘Pillow House’ releasing the second track off the project titled, ‘Take Your Time’.
With its bright and intoxicating demeanour, ‘Take Your Time’ sees the frontman continue his woozy aesthetic with this smooth and enticing new jam. Channeling sweet and blissful dream-pop tones, this sophomore delight is entrancing with its rich and atmospheric feel that matches Beau’s own charismatic persona.
Speaking about the new offering, he said, “Take your time is reflective on how I was rushing through my life without seeing beauty in the journey. I was going balls to the wall. In the song I’m telling myself to stay cool, slow down, and to take my time.”
The Pillow House shown on the EP cover played a crucial role in the composition of the project. With the completion of the EP, the ‘Pillow House’ experience also came to a close. After finding out that the house had plans to be demolished, Beau Turrentine was forced to move out and start a new journey.
Beau Turrentine is a 22-year-old rock and roller who wrote his first song on one string and hasn’t stopped since. Ear to the Ground Music writes “He sings with a… colorful nonchalance. I can see him being an indie sensation.” Will Oliver of We All Want Someone says, “he’s got a clear songwriting ability.” With a distinct sound, Beau is easy to recognize.
Beau Turrentine will be rejoining Orville Peck on his US tour on the 14th May 2021, when the pair perform together in Beau’s hometown Oklahoma City.
