After releasing his latest pair of singles ‘Hit Your Limit’ and ‘Coldblooded’ at the start of July, Dan Croll now returns to share the official video for the latter track, lifted from his new album ‘Grand Plan’ which is set for release on August 21st through Communion Records.
Collaborating once again with visual team The Wild Honey Pie, who have produced every video for his latest record, ‘Coldblooded’ sees Dan return to the lo-fi aesthetic that has themed his video accompaniments so far. Filmed in the LA-based music shop Old Style Guitars and pitching the singer and songwriter in front of an electric piano for the length of the clip, this new rendition of the song pushes his heartfelt lyrics to the forefront of the release and sees Croll offer up a truly intimate performance.
Speaking about the new video, Croll said, “It felt right to get a video in ‘Old Style Guitars’, as the first thing I did was purchase a guitar from there as soon as I arrived in LA. They also had a bunch of other great instruments in there, and it felt great to play the Wurlitzer for this track!”
“Having worked with Dan for years and years, on all sorts of sessions, putting together a visual album like this was a dream come true. He’s a truly magnificent musician,” explained Eric Weiner of The Wild Honey Pie.
While his partner Tim Toda added, “Working with Dan to create a cohesive palette for this new visual record has been incredibly fulfilling. We had worked with Dan on several Buzzsession’s, but we figured we’d take the concept of a “live session” and push it to feel more refined. We wanted to take it to the next level. I believe the videos speak for themselves when I say much of these videos stem from a place of discomfort, love, and discovery.”
