Growing up in Roxbury, MA, Kleo started making music aged 15, in a city where the spotlight for music isn’t so big, you have to try twice as hard to get recognised, with his own unique and heavy twist on Trap infused with heavy Hip Hop lyricism, Kleo stands out from the crowd. Taken from his Battle Damaged project, Kleo gives us his latest visual Stomp His Ass Out.
Inspired by the likes of J.Cole and Tyler The Creator, a lot of Kleo’s music is to do with acceptance of failure and his continual pursuit of goals, that’s what makes his music speak for itself, it’s been a long process of self-taught musicianship with trial and error, failure and fixes. His relationship with music has always been an inner longing of wanting to tell his story to the world.
Combining poignant lyricism and energetic flows over hypnotic instrumentals, Kleo is brash, yet thoughtful and introspective, Stomp His Ass Out provides a backdrop to an anime fight scene, full of energy and forcefulness, it entices you.
Speaking on the release he says Stomp His Ass Out is a brash and ignorant song. It’s me letting out my anger about rappers who are just looking to fit in and lack talent as well as letting listeners learn about my life and my thoughts.
