Today we are pleased to team up with singer-songwriter LEX premieres single “Stand Up”, the second installment in a body of short story-songs digging into both Lex’s internal struggles and conflicts, as well as commenting on our society at large. While this song was written, recorded, and scheduled for release before the onset of the pandemic and protests, the song adopts a whole new meaning in our world today, as it becomes live on streaming platforms. The empowering ballad is a call to action to us all to stand up for what is right, both in our internal and external battles, all over a rich, sultry, and stirring vocal performance with an equally impactful beat, with production by Michael Blum. LEX will be donating a percent of all streaming revenue and sales to NAACP’s Legal Defense and Education Fund, an organization that fights for racial justice in the forms of litigation, advocacy, and public education.
On the song, LEX exclusively tells VENTS Magazine:
“The World is facing a difficult time right now. In the midst of adversity, it is important to hold on to hope. It is important to stand up for what is right, and fight for what we believe in. Each and every one of us has a voice, together we can speak up and take action against racial injustices and inequality. I choose to express my ideals, and voice positivity through my music. “Stand Up” is a reflection of that sentiment. I stand with the black community, and will be donating a percentage of my sales to the NAACP’s Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc.— an organization that focuses on the advocating off racial justice through litigation and public education. Black lives matter, and we all have an important role to play if we want to see a better world.”
