Los Angeles native Otis Kane sets an incredibly high standard for what’s to come with his new single ‘Therapy’. The track is honest, with a ‘cool factor’ that fans of Anderson.Paak, SiR or BJ The Chicago Kid would certainly enjoy.
‘Therapy’ approaches the issues many of us encounter in our relationships from a truthful andcandid perspective. “(Therapy) is a really special song to me, it has two meanings. On a micro level it’s about my relationship and how things don’t always work out as planned, but we love each other and want to stay in it, and just need that bit of help to get us through, whether it’s self medication or seeing a therapist”says Otis, giving attention to thestate of mental health which is a loud conversation in our current times.
Clearly there are many layers to this track as well as the level of attention to detail Otis gives to his lyrics. He also says “On a macro level it’s about how as Black Americans our culture is lifted so high, and is the epitome of cool, while at the same time we’re falling victim to systemic racism and police brutality. The dichotomy between the two can make us feel so high and so low at the same time”
Otis Kane’s natural talent as a singer/songwriter & producer has already led him to work with some of music’s very best, including Pink Sweat$, Zara Larrson, Julia Michaels, Wiz Khalifa, The Jonas Brothers & more while racking up nearly half a million streams and dozens of sync placements in his young career (including Queen Sugar, All Rise, All American, Good Trouble, Hair Love – Jumanji). With his Debut EP ‘Therapy’ dropping on October 9th, Otis introduces his work on a larger scale than ever before. Featuring two singles co-written with friend/collaborator Pink Sweat$ as well as a hypnotic duet w/Bay Area singer Samaria, Otis Kane is excited to cement himself as an artist to watch in 2020.
