Today is the premiere of “Sigo Inédito,” a ‘corrido’ that unites two different styles and cultures through the voices and lyrics created by GUSTAVO PALAFOX y BRRAY.
In this composition GUSTAVO PALAFOX tells the story of a Mexican who does business with a person of Puerto Rican nationality. Through this title which translates in English to “I am still unpublished,” Gustavo is proudly alluding and expressing the fact that he remains unpublished thus far, since all the official recordings of the young Sonoran singer-songwriter have been the fruit of his own inspiration. On the other hand, BRRAY contributes the “Chanteo” which occurs when a singer-songwriter expresses his lyrics as if he were speaking fast and to the rhythm of the music.
This piece perfectly mixes the musical styles of GUSTAVO PALAFOX and BRRAY, without either one of them losing their essence, as we can also see reflected in the video that premiered this morning through YouTube and which was recorded in different locations in Los Angeles and Puerto Rico.
“I love ‘corridos’ and I liked this one because it talks about the connection between Mexico and Puerto Rico, so we jumped on it immediately. I felt very comfortable recording it. I liked hearing my voice in it and said, I can comfortably go into this,” expressed Brray.
The sound of this great collaboration “Regional Urban” was achieved thanks to the musical production that was under the direction of Gustavo Palafox and Alberto de León (Nominated to 2 Latin Grammys), and who also involved the engineers: Abelardo Rivera in the mixing (nominated 39 times to the Latin Grammy and 7 times winner) and Jaime Cavazos in the mastering (nominated 24 times to the Latin Grammy and 6 times winner).
